Hello, Frugals!!!

This morning DD15 was starving (of course) on her way to work, so we picked up a B1G1 breakfast sandwich deal at McD's... (She will eat both, because... 15...)

With the BOGO deal, they are ALMOST reasonable... 2 for $5 (with tax) ... but $4.49 for just one????? That's crazy!!!
Here's the breakout (from their app)
Biscuit: $1.19
Egg Biscuit: $1.49 (so the egg is $.30)
Sausage Biscuit: $1.59 (so the sausage is $.40)
Sausage Egg Biscuit .... (do the math, SHOULD be $1.89...) $4.09
Now, since they will charge $.90 to add cheese to any of the above, then a "sausage, egg, AND cheese" is ALMOST a deal, at a "mere" $4.49 ...

So while I COULD say I got a "free" $4.49 sandwich on BOGO, what I actually got was a serious realization that I need to learn to make biscuits at home!!!

Starting the month out with a bang :ROFLMAO::LOL:🤣

Eggs were 3.99 +tax (8%) here last time I looked (didn't buy) here, so they are cutting you a break on those sandwiches. 🤪 LOL!

Picked up a free jar of grill seasoning, it's a new flavor they were giving away.

Not free, but the store had chicken quarters for .69/lb today so I got the ten lb bag.

Today we received a nice suprise... the company that did our siding on the house sent us a thank you gift that was a cute little package of chocolate chip cookies. Coincidentally (???) the first bill arrived today 🤣 🤣 🤣

ETA- a friend gave me a pound of yeast she had from pandemic times because I asked for 1.5 teaspoons... I was sure I still had some in the freezer, but couldn't find it... but now I have plenty and she is ever-so-slightly-less overstocked.

Another $5 off coupon at Kohl's. Not sure if I will use it. I was just there a week or two ago and their clothing this season is UG-LY, and the housewares section is pretty thin.

Another $20 gift cert from a favorite hobby shop. With that and previous one I can cover postage and something for myself at Christmas.

My mom gave me a pressure cooker cookbook that looks pretty good, plus a PC manual I asked to borrow. I'm giving the manual back though because I thought it was different from the 3 Presto manuals I already had. It had the same recipes, only less of them, so I don't need it.

helped arrange, and then participated in, a class on canning salmon from fresh or frozen fish and got a couple jars of salmon! YUM!!!! We even canned the roe to use as bait later. Don't know if it worked, but it filled up the canner. 7 salmon made 32 pints of food, 28 of those will go to the community, 1 jar didn't seal and 1 was a quality control test. 2 more to participants.

Kenmore canister vacuum cleaner. I was looking at my tufted ottoman that collects crumbs in the crevices and wishing I had something besides an upright, that had a detachable wand. Lo and behold, neighbor had one for free in front of his house. It's missing all the tools but I can get by. Had to look up a YT video to figure out how to rewind the cord, lol.

Also a cool soup tureen with fish painted on it, no lid. I'll try it on Ebay to see if it is worth anything, otherwise I'll use it as a planter next summer.
