Not only my Covid shot (yay!) but went grocery shopping. Got a package of frozen shrimp, it rang up higher than the shelf tag, so they gave it to me for free!! I was just expecting the difference between the 2 prices.

Nice Jo!

In the last several weeks:

-- voucher for a free sushi dinner ($20)
-- free body wash from B&BW
-- bag of frozen peas
-- a can of something (fruit?)
-- between DH and myself over $150 in prizes from a hobby store raffle
-- a box of cereal

martha: I remember way back in 1980s when I was a teen working the "kitchen" at mcdonalds (if you can call a room full of teenagers responding to buzzers a kitchen). One of the managers kept asking me "what perfume is that?" I had gotten REALLY hot and sweaty which activated my pad's scent. Fortunately this was a female manager so I finally took her aside and said "it's the mini-pad.."

good grief! another enormous 2nd harvest offering. I skipped all the bread, cookies, crackers, pies (seriously...HUGE frozen cream pies and some costco-size fruit pies). Also skipped the "dairy box"...or rather gave it to someone else, because I'm dairy free. I came back with a 3 or 4 lb bag of organic rainbow mini carrots, another 1lb bag of "normal" carrots but odd sizes. 10lbs of russet potatoes, 6 or 7lbs of apples (fuji and pink lady! sweet like candy), 2 oranges (they were more yellow than orange but delicious) and a 3lb or so bag of yellow onions. The onions are on the small size but that works for a single lady. Not such a committment when I cut one open. Lunch was a couple of apples, 2 potatoes and a buffalo burger from a past harvest. Really good free lunch!
I might see if I can get a bit of ginger to ferment some of the carrots. I can't eat them before they go off. then again, they said there was an extra distribution next week. Jeez! I guess just eat what I can. No canned goods this time, fortunately. Oh yeah, 1 more box of maypo quick oats...no sweetener. I guess it's lots of fruit and veg for me this week.

two very fresh eggs from my LL's chickens. So good poached. I pick up things from the pig barrels at the food shelf for them, (the chickens) - got them some bean sprouts and chow mein noodles. Maybe they will lay Egg Foo Yung!

Got 2 shelves that my LL was throwing out - nothing wrong with them - installed them in the bathroom for extra storage. Old, small bathroom with clawfoot tub, so I don't have the normal tub surround with places to put things.
