A dryer drum to use for a large planter.

A piece of vintage Marlite which I used to make a nice backer for a large cabinet in my office. That's it right there in the large compartment.

Several candy bars.

Several wire racks to use for assorted construction projects.

Half a trailer full of salvaged lumber, mostly 2x4s, with which I've been building some frames for benches in our greenhouse.

A second trailer full of lumber, mostly green treated.

A shallow tray from an old fridge to use in the greenhouse.

A new lumber rack made from scrap lumber we had around. I guess it wasn't quite free because we had to buy wheels and screws, probably about $60 worth of stuff. But we paid nothing for the lumber.

A big heavy planter for my mom for Mother's Day. I made it from free scrap lumber and made the trellis from two oven racks salvaged free from the dump. It solves two problems she's had with patio tomatoes, the wind blowing over the plastic pot the plant comes in, and not having anywhere to tie up the plant as it grows. Again, not quite free because I used screws we paid for, but close enough. The table the planter is sitting on was made from free scraps, too. I made that to hold our rain barrel, when we get it installed.

Half a trailer of steel siding to use for various projects.

A free DQ sundae for Mother's Day.

I can't remember everything. We've salvaged so much stuff lately. I've been having a lot of fun playing with my power tools the past month.

More candy bars.

A pound of Jennie-O ground turkey. We were going to buy it when the checker at the store noticed the package had a crack in it. We got another uncracked package and the clerk said we could have the cracked one if we wanted it, so it's in the oven now, being turned into dog food. It didn't look like tampering so we're not worried about using it.

I got this at the dump to use for a really cool tub for mixing potting soil. Still can't believe I was this lucky! :D Someone else seemed to be eyeing it but I got there first!

I also picked up this sink so I can use the faucet for my new potting sink bench. I don't know yet if the faucet works but I'll find a way to make it work if not. I also needed a new strainer basket for the sink I plan to use, and I got both with this sink. It's a nice sink, and I may clean it up and donate it to ReStore instead of re-trashing it, since I have a nicer one already.

I realized the doors from top-freezer fridges would make durable trays to hold pots with plants in the greenhouse, so I picked up three of those free at the dump to tear down and turn into trays, all free. The bottom panels from clothes dryers will make nice trays too, shown in the pic with the potting soil tubs above. I need several more so will be keeping my eyes open whenever we're out salvaging.

Two small bags of malted milk balls.

A damaged concrete deer statue from my mom's neighbor. The maintenance people at her apartment complex kept hitting it last winter with the snowblower and damaging it. The base looks bad, but it'll be okay when I plant flowers around it. Husby brought it home earlier today and a lot of the broken pieces are there, so I might be able to fix it up. I haven't really looked it over yet. The neighbor was going to throw it out but really didn't want to, so she was happy we took it and couldn't stop thanking us. Last year, someone stole a large concrete statue from her front porch. It was an angel about four feet tall and was really beautiful. Whoever took it brought it back a couple of weeks later with the hands and face shot away. What kind of asshole does that to a sweet 91-year-old lady? Stuff like that just fries my bacon, especially since her worthless son left that mangled statue sitting there for weeks where she had to see it every time she looked out her front window. It must have broken her heart. I'm happy we could take her little deer statue so she didn't have to have that hauled off to the trash, too.

Two cute little wire stands from the dump, perfect to use on our decks for plants.

Two small bags malted milk balls.

Some other salvaged items, not much but that's okay because we don't need much of anything right now.
