To-day - Sept. 30th
5.5 lbs. of suet.
Needed it for my mincemeat and it's not out yet in the stores so my husband asked a butcher friend for some fully intending to pay for it. I needed 1/2 pound for my recipe and he comes home with 5.5 lbs. free - will give them some mincemeat. I had already froze the first batch so guess it is on to batch number two with suet in it. Couldn't see any difference myself.

We got a free old fashioned screen door. I know it seems strange, but I am very excited about this. It needs a little work, but it's gonna look great after it's fixed up a little.
We had decided that we wanted to put a screen door on our pantry, rather than the other types, for air circulation and just to be different. Well, I had told my friend about it over the phone and stopped over there sat. morn. and she said, did you find one yet? I said no, and she said we have several in the attic if you want to look at them. I felt like I hit the jackpot! See, I wanted something different, but also didn't want to pay $100 for a vynyl door. So, this is even more different yet, but it's free.
Yippeee!
