What food that they no longer produce do you miss the most? I know that there are lots of them but the one that I miss the most it ChocoLite candy bars. They were the best, they had the greatest texture and were delicious.

I know that you can get this in other areas of the country, but you can't find it here anymore. It's Scrapple! I love that peppery flavor that it has. Every few years I'll run across some in a specialty meat market in Montana and I stock up on it and bring it home to freeze. It's one of those childhood comfort dishes.:)

When I was a kid, we use to have these things for lunch at school. They were called Chicken Pie turnovers. They don't make them anymore, and boy were they good.

Scrapple is an old Pennsylvania Dutch sausage mix. It has cornmeal, sausage meat and spices. You make it in a loaf pan, chill it, cut it and then dredge it in flour and fry it. Yumm!

Scrapple sounds yummy Debbie.

You are right Lori, I miss the snow cone man, we did not have an ice cream man but we did have a man that came around and sold snow cones just like an ice cream man. I had not thought of that in years.

I am not sure this is the correct name but it was a burger from Hardees (I don't like to eat there at all now). I think it was called the Big Twin. It had 2 skinny patties and thousand island dressing. Sounds boring but honestly I loved them at the time.

I also miss my grandmother's black walnut cake. Made from scratch and no recipe could ever compete with it. I think it was just all the love in the cake that made it so memorable.

Oh Oh Oh it's BONOMO caaaandy!

Oh there was nothing like Bonomo Turkish Taffy
Vanilla, Chocolate, Strawberry & Banana.
It was about the size of a Hersey Bar
and cost a nickle in the 60's
One of these would last for an entire single feature
at the movies.
What a bargain!

You could either hold the bar till it got soft
then stretch it and eat it
OR
Put it in the freezer, leave the bar in the wrapper and smack it against a hard surface and it cracked into a million pieces.

YUMMY!

And to think Jayne, I thought I was going to be the only one to mention a cereal.....I know that I will think of something else to add later on but for now it is Ice Cream Cone cereal (not really sure what the whole name was) anyway, you could get chocolate or vanilla....I alway's got the vanilla, its been awhile since I saw it so I assume that don't make it anymore. Also the Drink 10-K. It was a lot like Gatorade. When I couldn't find it in stores anymore I could still find it at Sam's Club but I haven't seen it there in years either.
