This year my parsley is being eaten by small caterpillars that are stripped black and green with orange spots that come out like antennae when you aggrivate the caterpillar. I keep on picking off the caterpillars and throwing them on the grass. I figure something laid eggs in the soil since it is in a pot and this did not happen last year.

Not necessarily........if there are holes in the bottom of the pot, for drainage, they can crawl in through there.

Like CH said, I hope you are killing them b/4 you toss them onto the grass..........if not, probably pulling off the same one!
