With living in NY, I was used to eating at a variety of different restaurants, but since moving to MI *sigh*.
I live in a city now where there are mostly chain restaurants.

If given the choice, I prefer small tucked away little restaurants with limited and open window seating to passerby. Quaint places where the menu is on the street for you to read prior to deciding if you would care to try it. I have tried many types of ethnic foods, but Italian still remains my favorite. I used to dine Indian cuisine sometimes weekly with a close friend, but it isn't the type of food I am willing to trust at any restaurant where I don't know the owners. I have even tried ostrich and buffalo. *LOL* (you won't find those types of restaurants in this area) hehe
I enjoy fine dining, but love finding little greasy spoons that not everyone frequents too. There's nothing like a good deli too.
Shiny new quarter to anyone that can point me in a direction of a true gem of a restaurant in my area. *sigh* I swear if I eat McDonalds one more time~But I'm not bitter, Gabe really, I'm not. *LMAO*
We have focused so much on being frugal that we haven't spent much money on dining in a preferred place vs. chain/fast food since our trip to Montreal last year.

There's a small flicker of hope for this city though. They did just open a japanese steakhouse and a greek restaurant. :toothy:
