When we eat out I like to do things I can't do at home-which usually means high dollar or ethnic. I also am not a fan of big chain restaraunts-have not been in a Red Lobster, Sizzler etc in at least 5-6 years. I do like Champs and Fridays if I'm doing lunch with my girlfriends. I guess I'm a little spoiled since we live just outside NYC we have a lot of different things to try. Do you girls go out for burgers, or does it have to be different, do you do chain restaraunts or do you generally enjoy the smaller private places?

When I want to go out I go toTaco Bell :)
If we had a Dell Taco here it would be that instead.
I also have a great mexican place here that isn't a chain that i just LOVE.

I also love indian food and would actually go if dh would take me:mad: but that's another story...

Now dh on the other hand he can only eat at red lobster, Round table, chinese, or it has to be Lyons or Sizzler

We sometimes do IHOP because they have some great pancakes and omelettes there..

hmmm now I'm hungry!! for everything! Lol

I love ethnic restaurants! My favorite are Chinese, Mexican and Italian. I also love good ole' Southern American food. I have yet to try some ehnic food like Morrocoan, Thai and Vietnamese. I don't like foods that are too spicy.

I love Chilis and a restaurant around here called Tokyo Steakhouse--where they cook the food in front of you. It's delicious! :)

With living in NY, I was used to eating at a variety of different restaurants, but since moving to MI *sigh*.
I live in a city now where there are mostly chain restaurants. :(
If given the choice, I prefer small tucked away little restaurants with limited and open window seating to passerby. Quaint places where the menu is on the street for you to read prior to deciding if you would care to try it. I have tried many types of ethnic foods, but Italian still remains my favorite. I used to dine Indian cuisine sometimes weekly with a close friend, but it isn't the type of food I am willing to trust at any restaurant where I don't know the owners. I have even tried ostrich and buffalo. *LOL* (you won't find those types of restaurants in this area) hehe
I enjoy fine dining, but love finding little greasy spoons that not everyone frequents too. There's nothing like a good deli too.
Shiny new quarter to anyone that can point me in a direction of a true gem of a restaurant in my area. *sigh* I swear if I eat McDonalds one more time~But I'm not bitter, Gabe really, I'm not. *LMAO*
We have focused so much on being frugal that we haven't spent much money on dining in a preferred place vs. chain/fast food since our trip to Montreal last year. :(
There's a small flicker of hope for this city though. They did just open a japanese steakhouse and a greek restaurant. :toothy:

When DH and I splurge, it's Red Lobster. We also like the Chinese buffet. I personally like diner food, and we have tons of diners locally to go to. When all DD's are with us, we go to the diner. For fast food, Taco Bell rules, but I also like Arbys, McD's, Burger king, etc. Now I'm hungry! :chef:

Chick-Fil-A and there are a couple of local seafood restaurants that we really like. Ds of course is big on Burger King chicken nuggets and we almost always stop at Wendy's for a frosty whenever we're at the beach (since the restaurant sits practically right on the beach! LOL!).

We usually go to SAMS JOINT right up the road for their award winning ribs. If we are in the mood for pizza, it is Fricanos, my friends family owned business. They are known for the best pizza around!:smball:

Anything buffet! LOL. We usually go to Sweet Tomatoes (soup and salad buffet), Chinese buffet or for breakfast, we go to Golden Corral. My boys have no patience. When they're hungry, they're hungry. We find a buffet easier. Plus, they always have ice cream. :D

It depends on whom is eating with me. If it is dh, the only chain restaurant that he will eat at is O'Charley's. He also likes to eat at a local Mexican restaurant and a little hole in the wall restaurant at the beach about 2 hours away. Ds likes Red Lobster. Sometimes I take him there for a treat. I will eat about anywhere except Golden Corral or German restaurants.

For burgers and stuff, we eat at a local joint called KB Burgers...we hardly ever eat fast food unless we are on the road....For sit down meals its Cracker Barrel, Japenese, or Logans..if we really want to splurge...we go to my favorite place...The Chop House!!! Dh hates seafood, but I love it so every now and then we will go to the Red Lobster.

We go to a Chinese buffet or a local Mexican restaraunt. We live close to a catfish restaraunt that is out in the middle of nowhere but people drive for miles to come and eat there, we occassionaly eat there, but it is one of those places where everything is fried except for the iced tea:D , you can feel your arteries starting to clog when you walk in the door, LOL.
