For me, this wasn't something my mother did, or even my grandmother (although I bet she did in 'the olden days' on the farm.)
I got (years ago) Melinda Coss's book, The Handmade Soap book. It lays it out so even << I >> :toothy: can figure out how to make nice bars.
Hers are hot process regular (lye) soaps, not melt and pour type. Her Dream Castile is great and is about all I make now, after trying about 4-5 of her 'recipes'. It even makes a nice shampoo bar, now that my hair is short.
How did you learn?
