whew! I just got inside from planting. whew, am i ever beat! I planted my bleeding heart under "the ugly tree" (i will attatch a pic of this planting). and i planted 3 roses bushes. One in my front yard, one under ds's window and one climbing one under my living room window. (I chose to put roses under the windows as i have heard to plant prickly plants under window to deter break ins.... but i thought i would do good to later keep the kids in! LOL) But I love roses and I can't wait for them to blossom and let the rose smell waft in through the windows. I planted seeds too in pots all around the front yard. I hope they come up well. I planted some seed mixes and some daisies too. once my flowers in the cold frame come up really well, i will plant those out in the front yard too.

BTW "the ugly tree" is a tree that is falling apart. chunks of bark is falling off, and there is a place in the tree you can reach in and with no effort, pull out what is almost like sawdust, but moldy. ICK. BUT it is an endangered tree!!! So the city won't let us cut it down and wont let us do anything to it...ARGH! They said that once it stops putting out leaves they will come back and access the tree. but in the meantime they have come by and told us that we cannot do anything. and that should we do anything we can and will get fined!

Wow, good for you. What a great and productive day. (my favorite type of day) ;) It looks good.
I love bleeding hearts too.

I'm still waiting for some sign of life on my herbs I planted. I'm hoping to maybe this weekend or next to plant some perennials. It's still been dropping down at night though here.

I love pictures. Thanks for posting one.

Good for you Melissa, what a productive day! Those roses are going to be beautiful! I love bleeding hearts too, when we moved here 3 years ago my neighbour gave me some of hers. She had brought the main plant from the farm they lived on until they retired 30 years earlier!! It is so nice to have a remembranceof my sweet neighbour in my gardens.

I saw a white bleeding heart at a garden center last fall and bought it, I had never seen a white one before, just checked on it yesterday and its' coming up nicely.

Good for you Melissa, sounds like a very productive day. I like those types of days too.

Your roses will be beautiful and I love bleeding hearts too. (Just always be careful with kids because bleeding hearts are poisonous, but oh so pretty.)

Your going to have a wonderful garden.

I like the cold frame a lot Darlene. It sure helps the plants get used to being outside, to harden off. :)

What a beautiful little corner you have made, there, Melissa!:)
I also love Bleeding Hearts! I have a large one growing each year just at the end of my stairway in the backyard. I'll try to show a picture when it comes out...:heartsm:

Sounds like you have a great gardening plan. I have never heard of a yard tree being endangered. I learn something new here every day but you are doing a great job of making yours eye appealing. Happy Gardening.
