Just gotta convert the pounds to ounces (16 ounces in a pound) and divide the price by the ounces to get the price per ounce:

26oz for 1.12 = $.043/ounce (roughly)
4lb 2oz for 4.40 = $.066/ounce (roughly)
8.5 lbs for 5.93 = $.043/ounce (roughly)

So the first and third are the same price.

Convert all to ounces. Divide price by ounces to get a cost per ounce:

26 oz = .0430
66 oz = .0666
136 oz = .0436

So, in this case, the smaller package is the better buy.

the smaller package is the better deal. I would buy that one first if it is a brand that I never used before. You wouldnt want to get stuck with a huge amount that you dont like.

I actually have a pricebook sheet that figures all this our for you. It is an excel sheet. I don't know how to attach it and I can't find the sheet where I downloaded it from. :( If you send me your email address I can try to mail it to you for anyone who wants it.
