Never made soap but we used to whip melted paraffin with an old hand held mixer to create a fluffy snow coating for snowball candles.
It whipped easily but you had to work fast when applying it to the candles. If it hardened you could melt it and start over. The beaters cleaned up easily if they were allowed so sit in a pan of boiling water for a few minutes until the wax melted and floated to the surface. I'm guessing that you could use a similar process with soap.
