White Chocolate Macadamia Cookie Mix

1 1/4 cups white sugar
1/2 cup chopped macadamia nuts
1 cup white chocolate baking chips
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. baking powder

Mix together the flour, baking soda and baking powder. Layer the ingredients in order in quart size canning jars, ending with the flour mixture. Give with serving instructions.

To serve: Empty cookie mix into a large mixing bowl and blend well. Add 1/2 cup softened butter or margarine, 1 egg, and 1 teaspoon vanilla. Mix well. Shape the dough into 1-inch balls and place 2-inches apart on greased baking sheets. Bake at 375 degrees for 12-14 minutes or until the tops are very lightly browned. Cool for 5 minutes then transfer to wire racks to cool completely. Makes 2 1/2 dozen cookies.
