This is a trivial question.....I've seen a few of these slicers in the seed catalogs that have started coming in the mail. Does anyone know why it's called a "mandolin" slicer? I googled it without success.
Now we know. I bought one of these for Dd for Christmas and was so close to getting the special cut reistant gloves (washable) to go with it. I really worry about her cutting her hand on it. I told her she had to promise me she'd take her time and really be aware of what she was doing as she uses it. Ya I'm still being motherly...those things are dangerous!
