In this case, it was a screw up to the tune of $105 in overdraft fees.

Yep - I told myself on Tuesday - remember to move some sinking fund money into checking from savings...

Guess what I didn't do?

So bam, bam bam - three overdrafts - $35.00 each. And we had over $3,000 in our savings account too.

I still deal with the devil - Bank of America is our main bank. The guy said he'd wipe out 2 of the 3 O/Ds. That'd be nice - if it happens - but if it doesn't, I'm not gonna bitch. It's my effing fault.

But I also signed up for the "if you screw up with checking and have money in savings, we'll move the money for you and only charge you $10.00 total as opposed to $35 per transaction" program.

So - have fun knocking me off my pedestal. ;)

But you know what is nice?

Two years ago, this would have been a *CRISIS*. $100 gone? OMG WHAT DO WE DO??

Today, having lived on a budget, having money in the bank, living BELOW our means with no credit cards and no new consumer debt...this? This is stupid tax - it's annoying - but we'll get over it.

No Pizza for us this month maybe...

When I am going over our accounts I always forecast our cashflow for the remainder of the month. If I know that there is going to be a bill coming up that will require money from the savings account, I just do an online transfer and postdate it to the day before it's needed. That way, I don't need to remember to do it on a particular day - which is something I am terrible with. If the situation changes before the bill is due, I can just go online and either edit the transfer or delete it.

We've all paid stupid tax at one time or another. :( Point is you've learned from it and it didn't hurt as bad as it once would! :thumb: Annoying as heck - yes, but chalk it up as a learning experience. I think BofA *will* take off the first two fees and then you'll only be out the $35. Not too bad. We used to bank with BofA and when they said they would take something off, they did.

lesson learned. I'll bet it never happens again.
If it does, it'll only cost $10, anyway. :)

Like I said - I TOLD myself to move the money! I just...never did...

So...if Greebo won't listen to himself, then why should we listen to him?!

Just kidding, Greebo. :hugz: You've just proved that we're all human.

What's this "no pizza for US"? Ceashells can order pizza - YOU just can't have any! PB&J for Greebo.

I don't care if you are married. Share and share alike does not extend to pizza in this case.
I hate you.

SOOOOO much!

Russ: too funny, thank you.

And unfortunately dcompton, Ceashels rarely orders out. I'd make my own but ..... that takes more prethought than I can expend right now. lol so PB&J for two this month. :D

Note what you're seeing here folks - this isn't "I'll eat PB&J if my hubby has to eat PB&J cause I'm standing by my man!"

This is "Man that's too much work - gimme a sandwich!"

My wife. I love her! :D

That was too funny!

Greebo- it's nice to have that budget and BEF to help with these "stupid" times. I know a year ago, $100 would have been a major emergency! Now, it is a crappy bump in the road:D
